OVERVIEW
Our client, a photographer specialising in maternity and family photo shoots, wanted to create a “soft cave” feeling in her studio. She had seen a similar Venetian plaster finish in a restaurant and was hoping to replicate it in her own workspace. Being a photography studio, we needed to limit the shine on the finish, while still imbuing enough texture and movement so that the details would show up in the photos.
FEATURE FINISHES
To create the warm tone, we started by applying layers of Intonachino, using a trowel to burnish some areas so they were smooth. Once dried, we used a tinted Velatura Minerale wash to add depth of colour. The wash was applied using a sponge, with a focus on the textured, pitted areas of the Intonachino finish, to create a stone-like effect.
